Retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara, head of the ‘Aditana’ Tri-Forces Collective, stated that they are committed to maintaining the country’s peace under the leadership of Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

He made this statement today (02) morning at the media conference of the National People’s Power Retired Tri-Forces Collective held at the headquarters of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in Pelawatta, Battaramulla.

Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyakontha of the ‘Aditana’ Tri-Forces Collective, Retired Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne of the ‘Aditana’ Tri-Forces Collective, and President’s Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma of the NPP Lawyers’ Collective participated in the event.

During the conference, Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyakontha emphasized that terrorism and the Easter attacks occurred due to the weak leadership of politicians.

(-Unveiling of National People’s Power Environmental Policy – 31.08.2024-)

The NPP unveiled its environmental policy under the theme ‘Mihikatha’ (Mother Earth) on 31.08.2024 in Colombo. The policy primarily focused on the environmental threats facing Sri Lanka, including addressing climate change, the human-elephant conflict, forest system protection, and kidney diseases caused by environmental factors.

The main speaker, NPP presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, stated that the NPP would prevent environmental destruction by transforming environmentalists’ plans into government policies.

Dr. Ravindra Kariyawasam, the National Coordinator of the Center for Environmental and Nature Studies, emphasized that the fundamental basis of our environmental policy is to protect what cannot be recreated.

The Muslims of Colombo gathered in large numbers for the resounding victory in the 2024 presidential election, destined to result in a “prosperous country – a beautiful life”.

The National People’s Power manifesto under the theme “A Prosperous Country, A Beautiful Life” was unveiled on August 26, 2024, at the Monarch Imperial Hotel premises in Sri Jayewardenepura.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate of the National People’s Power, who attended as the chief speaker, stated that they had engaged in discussions with the people from various strata of the country and with experts in each respective field to gather insights for this plan. He mentioned that based on all these experiences, they could present a developed and successful plan under the theme “A Prosperous Country, A Beautiful Life.” He further stated that separate plans have been presented for all the important sectors.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake also emphasized that the current situation is not just a crisis in one or two sectors but a crisis of the entire system. He asserted that the National People’s Power has taken on the responsibility of rebuilding the entire system and possesses both a strong ideology and a strong force to do so. He also mentioned that they have a leadership team capable of providing the necessary leadership and that they have the roadmap to rebuild the country.

Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, a Member of Parliament of the National People’s Power, expressed that it is essential to change this political culture that does not respect the citizens. She stated that the policy statement of the National People’s Power is not just another piece of paper but a contract with the people of this country.

Today (22), NPP Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake participated in a significant rally held in Dharga Town. The event, titled “A Rich Country – A Beautiful Life,” drew a large gathering of Muslims who, like at previous meetings, rallied around the NPP leader.

Addressing the crowd, Dissanayake emphasized, “Let’s form a government together, a government that will truly change this country for the better. To achieve this, we must work hard, give our best, and step forward in the coming months.”

The rally was attended by notable figures including Mr. A.S.M. Sarukh, Political Bureau Member of the United Left Force and a member of the Kalutara District Executive Committee of the NPP; Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Kalutara District NPP Organizer and Executive Committee Member; Mr. Aroos Azad, member of the Kalutara District Executive Committee; Mr Tilvin Silva, General Secretary of the JVP; and Mr Carmen Madappuli, a member of the Kalutara District Executive Committee of NPP.
