A discussion took place between a delegation of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the National People’s Power (NPP), including its leader, Comrade Anura Kumara Dissanayake, at the head office of the JVP today (31) morning.
There was a lengthy discussion regarding the issues faced by the business sector in Sri Lanka in the face of the economic and political crisis and the NPP’s policy approaches to solve the economic crisis.
On behalf of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, its president, Duminda Hulangamuwa, local managing partner of Ernst & Young, Bigumal Thevarathantri of Standard Chartered Bank, Supun Weerasinghe, chief executive officer of Dialog Asiata, and Mutasa Jafferjee, president of Advocate Institute, were present for this meeting.
In addition to Comrade Anura Dissanayake, the General Secretary of the JVP, Comrade Tilvin Silva, National Executive Members of NPP Comrade KD Lalkantha, Comrade Vijitha Herath and Engineer Kumara Jayakodi participated representing the NPP.

The beginning of a new year is associated with cultural life as the beginning of a new hope. Also, it is a moment of renewal of hopes about improving the familiar attitudes that existed until then and about overcoming the challenges that could not be overcome. Instead of becoming an extension of the tragedy of the previous 75 years, we must struggle to overcome the challenges with dedication and courage to make the new year a victorious year.
The New Year has brought us new hopes and new opportunities. We trust that the upcoming Thai Pongal day will bring strength and courage to Sri Lankan Hindus to take advantage of those new opportunities and move on a new path.
