National People’s Power held a victory rally at Ambalantota today (12). Consequently, the meeting grounds were filled with a large crowd.

The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Vipula Vijedasa, Convenor of the National People’s Power Ambalanthota Divisional Division, former Ambalanthota Divisional Council member, and retired Deputy Principal. After that, some comments addressed the people gathered, including members of Sanga Ratnaya, youth, women, retired army officers, etc. Chief Sanghanayaka of Sri Saddhamma Yuktik Matara Maha Nikaya, Southern Lanka, Grand Registrar, Hambantota District President of the National Bhikshu Peramune, Vihara Abbot of the Galwila Purana Raja Maha Vihara Gana, Master, Pujya Baragama Wimalabuddhi Nayaka Swami, Hambantota District Executive Member of the National People’s Force, former Assistant Local Revenue Commissioner, P.N. Dayananada, District Executive Member of NPP Youth, District Committee Member of Socialist Youth Union, Suranga Sanjeeva, National Executive Member of National People’s Force, Former Member of Parliament for Hambantota District Nihal Galappatti, District Executive Member of National People’s Force Hambantota, Former Member of Regional Council, Deputy Principal of Kiwula Vidyalaya , Priyanka Daniel, Hambantota District Executive Member of the National People’s Force, former Member of the Tangalle Regional Council, National Committee Member of the All Ceylon Public Fishermen’s Federation Ruwan Senarath, Hambantota District Executive Member of the National People’s Force, former Provincial Assembly Member, Tissamaharama Constituency Organizer Atula Thargoda, National People’s Force Hambantota District Executive Member, Aravinda Senarath made such comments in front of Ambalanthota people.

Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the National People’s Power presidential candidate, delivered the keynote address. He said that a government united with the country’s people will be formed by voting.

A media conference of the Retired Tri-Forces Collective of the National People’s Power was held this morning (7) at the main office of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in Pelawatta, Battaramulla. Present at the event were National Executive Committee member of the NPP, Ananda Wijepala; Head of the Retired Tri-Forces Collective, Retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara; and Member of the Main Operations Committee of the ‘Aditana’ Collective, Retired Navy Commodore Senaka Hanwella.

During the event, Ananda Wijepala urged the public not to fall for the cowardly propaganda being circulated in desperation as they face loss of power.

Retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara emphasized that conspiratorial propaganda cannot sway public opinion.

Retired Navy Commodore Senaka Hanwella stated that the members of the ‘Aditana’ collective operate with discipline and a mature understanding of politics.

The leader of the National People’s Power, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, participated today (7) in the victorious rally of the National People’s Power titled “Rata Anurata” held in Maradankadawala. The people of the area gathered in large numbers, showing strong support for the expected outstanding victory in the 2024 Presidential Election, aimed at creating a “prosperous country – beautiful lives.”

Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate of the National People’s Power, stated that the faith placed in them by the people will be fully honored after the 21st.

Further expressing his views, he stated, “First, we will dissolve the parliament. Next, according to the constitution, we will govern the country well for about 1½ to 2 months until the general election. After winning the presidential election and going for the general election, we will sweep in votes just like how water rushes into the Kala Wewa spillway. By then, over 150 members of this parliament will be at home. It’s not only Ranil who will be defeated by this vote. Even S.M. Chandrasena and the will be defeated. We will form a government with a 2/3 majority. That is certain. After that, we will appoint heads to government institutions. This vote will also revoke unauthorized appointments given to the sons, daughters, and relatives of politicians. The vote of the 21st of September is going to be that powerful.”

Rimzi Khan Maulavi; Anuradhapura District Executive Committee member and Anuradhapura District Organizer of the Women for Rights organization, Nishanthi Prabhakumari; Anuradhapura District Executive Committee member and businessman, Nimal Chandrasekara; Anuradhapura District Executive Committee member and lawyer, Bhagya Sri Herath; National Executive Committee member and former Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies University of Rajarata, Senior lecturer P.D.N.K. Palihena.

During the event, National Executive Committee member, Wasantha Samarasinghe, invited the people to join a new political renaissance instead of lingering in old dead-ends.

Renowned singer Krishantha Erandaka said, “on the 21st, let’s reply with our votes to those who are still involved in corrupt politics.”

He made this statement today (02) morning at the media conference of the National People’s Power Retired Tri-Forces Collective held at the headquarters of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in Pelawatta, Battaramulla.

Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyakontha of the ‘Aditana’ Tri-Forces Collective, Retired Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne of the ‘Aditana’ Tri-Forces Collective, and President’s Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma of the NPP Lawyers’ Collective participated in the event.

During the conference, Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyakontha emphasized that terrorism and the Easter attacks occurred due to the weak leadership of politicians.

Answer: We have already filed a complaint against MP Tushara Indunil. We will be filing a complaint against Manusha Nanayakkara as well. We will take legal action against all false propaganda and slanderous accusations being spread until September 18.

(-Unveiling of National People’s Power Environmental Policy – 31.08.2024-)

The NPP unveiled its environmental policy under the theme ‘Mihikatha’ (Mother Earth) on 31.08.2024 in Colombo. The policy primarily focused on the environmental threats facing Sri Lanka, including addressing climate change, the human-elephant conflict, forest system protection, and kidney diseases caused by environmental factors.

The main speaker, NPP presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, stated that the NPP would prevent environmental destruction by transforming environmentalists’ plans into government policies.

Dr. Ravindra Kariyawasam, the National Coordinator of the Center for Environmental and Nature Studies, emphasized that the fundamental basis of our environmental policy is to protect what cannot be recreated.
