Dear Administrator There are lots of Sri Lankan citizens working abroad in government and private sectors specialising in many areas and having lots of experience in their respective fields. Most of them are products of free education and have started their professional lives in Sri Lanka. Again, most of them are keen to come back and contribute to any honest effort to take the country out of the current political, economic and social abyss. How do you propose to utilise their services in future. Do you propose to invite them and ask them to forward their profiles confidentially so that they could be considered for various roles and responsibilities commensurate with their education, knowledge and experience? As most of them would be scarifying a lot not only in monetary terms but also in terms of opportunity cost, unless they could perform such responsible roles so that they are effectively and efficiently used, they would not have an incentive to leave their current positions and come back to SL. If you have not thought about this, I suggest that you do so as a matter of urgency so that you would have a very valuable pool of resources to draw from in selecting the most suitable people to be appointed to in the area of governance, for example, diplomatic service, appointment to Parliament from the national list, law enforcement and judiciary etc. To do so, you must establish a committee at the highest levels to facilitate the process of getting such people on board, interview them and eventually select the most suitable of them for various responsibilities to assure them that their sacrifices are worthy for the sake of the country. At every stage, this has to be a transparent process.

What is your policy on private medical faculties. You objected and protested until the last one closed. Many bright students who can’t get into state medical faculty who can afford went abroad. So much money is going out of the country. Many students are lonely and suffering in faraway countries. Closing a private medical faculty was a disaster. Best would have been to make them correct their mistakes and let them function as a medical faculty

While we will not shut down private educational institutions, we will implement strict regulations. What is your national wage policy? What is your plan in salary structuring for top rank professionals in the government sector. Currently, there is a big discrepancy when compared with private sector. (Eg. Government doctors salary vs predicate sector IT field and other engineers salaries) How you are going to solve the conflicts among governments health sector salary issues? What is your vision regarding current government sector salary compression ratio and Nation Wage Policy?
