what is your policy on the Banking Industry especially with government-owned banks? Are going to start new banks for entrepreneurs ?

Admin

Thank you for your inquiry. The NPP envisions a strengthened banking industry focused on enhancing government-owned banks and supporting entrepreneurs. Key initiatives include recapitalizing state-owned banks for stability and efficiency, improving access to financial products tailored for small businesses, promoting microfinance and cooperative banks, and prioritizing financial inclusion for underserved populations. Although there are currently no immediate plans to establish new banks specifically for entrepreneurs, our focus will be on enhancing access to financial services through existing government-owned banks. Best regards !

We invite you to explore our manifesto to learn about our policies, and we welcome you to join us on this journey towards a brighter future for all Sri Lankans. Best regards!

Akalanka De Mel

I am akalanka De Mel and I am an engineer This is the 3rd time I am writing to this web site. These are my suggestions for the issues that we see in the ground level ISSUE 01. Please note that addressing to the Low income Low IQ people has been an issue. They have not being addressed well. Although the NPPs' establishing system is to bring them up. The message has not being conveyed properly to them. The middle class families has a good potential to vote for NPP and if a issue arise they can access internet and fix it. If not their respective middle class society will answer them in favor of NPP (since majority of the middle class is swinging towards NPP). Since from the outside what we can see is the campaign has been effective for middle class more than lower income people. Suggestions 01. Since the low income low IQ society rely on feel good factor and how a party could rally them. We Need to emotionally bring them up. And firmly address them giving them hope. I believe this is the time to bring the emotional factor up. 2. Allocating seperate people who can make a change to the specific people and bring as their main target to address that society (Example Samantha vidyarathna & Dr Harini) Why samantha Vidyarathna - part of low income people like to be addressed by one of their fellow members which they feel equal. And samantha has that ability to rally the crowd hinting the early days of Wimal weerawansha. So does Tilvin Silva, which he can end a meeting with a massive hype. I believe those people are good tools. NEED TO USE THEM MORE, NEED TO BRING SAMANTHA OUT OF BADULLA AND TO THE MAIN MEETINGS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AS A MAIN SPEAKER. Why Dr Harini - Same as the above, the flip side of it is the low income people like when a high class person speaks on behalf of them. They feel empowered by it. Like Royalty speaks on behalf of them. The picture of harini is like that for most of them. And need to keep hitting their emotional side continuosly. I hope someone looks in to this and work for this from top to bottom while we are holding from the bottom. Vote is a Vote. Lets cover up the medicine in suger coated toffees and give them to the society in need of treatment. In this stage. Thank you!

May I know whether your agriculture policy define the Long term and short term agric policies? Also, my view is provide a defined period of time for the growers to grow whatever the food items that we import for the consumption in Sri Lanka and ban of import thereafter. It opens the eyes of farmers to cultivate all bare lands to fulfill the country's requirement contineously and it saves foreign exchange on import of duch items

Admin

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, we have established both long-term and short-term policies for agriculture. For detailed information, please refer to our policy statement. Maximizing cultivation to meet the country's agricultural demands is a top priority for us. We truly appreciate your suggestions, and they will be forwarded to our Research & Development team for consideration. Best regards!
