This is a suggestion regarding your education policy. Please feel free to disregard it if you find it irrelevant or not applicable. I believe it's worth considering and sharing with the public during meetings to educate them about futuristic education frameworks. As you are aware, STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) has become a central aspect of modern education frameworks. It's not just about preparing students for future job opportunities, but it's also essential for equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in a world where advanced technologies are increasingly integrated into our daily lives. Given the rapid advancement of technology, it's crucial that everyone has a sufficient understanding of STEM concepts. This knowledge will empower individuals to navigate and leverage emerging technologies effectively. While I understand the need for brevity, I am enthusiastic about contributing further if given the opportunity. Nonetheless, I have confidence in your team's ability to execute your plans effectively. This suggestion comes from someone who wishes you every success.

  1. 1. Have you mechanism in place already even before coming into power - to serve the people - to allow any person ask questions and have it answered?
  2. 2. Will you change the medium of instruction in government schools to English. Or at least have you in your vision to do so.

I want to ask further questions regarding NPP economic policies, so as to create awareness amongst those who arbitrarily condemn NPP without knowing the facts. Although many policy principles have been articulated at meetings and Youtube videos, many do not have the time for that. Hence, I believe this is a quick way to direct those people interested to read NPP ideas. In your previous response it was clarified that creating COMPETITION, providing DATA and CAPITAL (where required) are some of the fundamental NPP principles. 1) If a person has the capital and data and they want to get into the manufacturing industry for example, will NPP have a SYSTEM where one can apply to set up their business without connections (or bribes) to anyone including politicians and Government officials? 2) If a person has the data but short of CAPITAL, will NPP have a system like in Singapore and China with new Development Banks that will provide low cost loans? 3) Cost of energy is very high and a huge hurdle for businesses to be competitive. Will a NPP govt be open to competition in the power generation sector? 4) NPP is said to prefer a 'mixed services and production economy' to increase GDP. What services other than tourism (value adding) human capital export (more skilled less unskilled) shipping/ harbour services are you looking at? 5) Does NPP intend to tap into the International IT market in collaboration with India which has a $133B market for IT? 6)What sort of incentives will be offered for businesses to be located to the provinces away from Colombo? 7) Regarding FDI, what sort of businesses should be attracted to come to SL?
