Dear Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, I am from the Kothmale ( Nu eliya district) , and I have vivid memories of my childhood when the area was abundant with flourishing tea plantations. However, in recent years, there has been a noticeable decline in tea cultivation. Our district is also blessed with natural beauty, including numerous waterfalls and mountain hills that have the potential to attract tourists and boost the local economy. As someone who is deeply committed to the National People's Power (NPP) and actively engaged in promoting our cause through social media and other channels, I would like to know what specific programs or initiatives you have in mind to develop the Nuwara Eliya Kothmale area. How does NPP plan to rejuvenate our tea industry and leverage our district's natural attractions for sustainable development? As of now, I'm living in Colombo. i was an active member of Aragalaya only because of my love for country, and i want to see my country development and I'm willing to work for it. Your insights on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and best regards, Maduranga Wijebandara Rogersangama, Thispane, Nawalapitiya.

Thank you for your support in promoting the NPP. It's because of dedicated individuals like you that we have come this far. We have a clear vision to revitalize the tea industry by supporting local producers, introducing advanced technology, identifying high-yielding tea varieties, and enhancing cultivation methods. Regarding tourism, the NPP plans to promote lesser-known destinations alongside popular tourist spots, showcasing the unique cultural, historical, and natural attractions across the country. Kotmale, in particular, holds great potential for tourism under an NPP government. For more details on our development policies for tourism and the tea industry, please stay tuned for our policy launch on the 26th. Best regards

Hello, This is the second time I am asking these questions. 1. Will NPP MPs disclose their assets to public when they come to power? 2. Have the current 3MPs of NPP declared their assets to the public?

Thank you for your inquiry. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  1. The current NPP MPs have already disclosed their assets to Parliament and will continue to do so once in power.
  2. This information is available within Parliament and can be accessed by the public through a Right to Information request.

Best regards

Most of the media channels have started promoting their candidates not just only using paid advertisements, but also using their news air time too. We can see that they allocate high portion for a particular candidate and only around 10% of that airtime for NPP. This won't be affected to the youth or mid age people but will surely brainwash our senior citizens. Is there any rules and regulations that push TV channels not to use News for their promotions? According to Media Guidelines to be Followed /Policies to be Observed by the Electronic and Print Media during a Referendum or an Election, it says "All telecasting, broadcasting and print media shall be neutral and impartial in their reporting of election related matters and shall not discriminate any contesting political party / independent group or a candidate, in allocating airtime and allotting space in the newspapers." Though you mentioned that NPP does not rely solely on the media, NEWS is something that can be used to brainwash people , because direct approach is not applied to majority of the citizens.

We appreciate your concern. This is indeed a very valid concern, and we fully recognize that both private and state TV channels are misusing frequencies that rightfully belong to the public. The Election Commission has taken notice and has already issued a warning to one of the channels. We are hopeful that the authorities will continue to apply pressure on these channels to ensure a fair and transparent election. Best regards

As the next government to come to power for the betterment of the public how would you go to implement the process of cryptocurrency in sri lanka?

Admin

Thank you for your inquiry. To implement cryptocurrency in Sri Lanka, we will first need to establish clear regulatory frameworks to ensure security and transparency, while encouraging innovation. However, this will be a gradual process, as our immediate priority is to address more pressing financial issues. Best regards

We have not seen your Leader addressing the issue of Elderly care. With 20% of the country's population considered older people, the State has so far failed to establish any national policy to look after the welfare of old people of the country. Sadly NPP has so far not indicated what their policy would be regarding this segment of the society.

Admin

Thank you for your inquiry. The NPP's welfare policy places a strong emphasis on the well-being of elderly citizens. Additionally, several other sectors, such as transport, include specific provisions designed to benefit the elderly. For a comprehensive understanding, we invite you to review the NPP policies that will be officially launched on August 26th, 2024. Best regards
